At Wovenware we know how much of a role our supporting community has played in the development, growth, and success of our business. We feel fortunate for the help and mentoring we have been given, and try to give back to our community in meaningful ways whenever possible.
Before 2017, our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program focused on two main areas where we believed Wovenware could add the most value and make a lasting and significant impact in our community, including:
- To promote and support technology education and industry in Puerto Rico
- To promote and support entrepreneurship in Puerto Rico
Our social investment has been mainly performed through:
- Our involvement in Non-Profit Organizations that foster entrepreneurship and technology in Puerto Rico, like, Grupo Guayacán, ConPRmetidos, and Puerto Rico IT Cluster
- Financial resources for activities like HackPR, UPRM Job Fair, Include Girls, and EO Global Student Entrepreneur Awards.
But this year we’re adding something different to our CSR program; we’re supporting members of our community who have critical needs — the young children at Hogar de Niños que Quieren Sonreir (Puerto Rico Hope Lodge – Home for Children who Want to Smile). The Home, which opened in 1994, offers temporary shelter and free services to childhood cancer patients and their caregivers who must travel for treatment. Our employees donated items needed by the Home and personally delivered them on January 30.
We are proud of our employee giving campaign and look forward to continuing to support our community to not only foster entrepreneurship, but also to improve people’s lives.
